Oh Crap! News Flash! There's been a little detour in the winding road called Life. It's not a roadblock, more like a damn pothole.

Thanks to my long and lean, swan-like neck (which I have hated my entire life), I noticed a small lump. Soon it was a bigger lump and my swan neck started to get a bit lopsided. After a series of tests, my fabulous doctors diagnosed me with lymphoma (aka "The Nasty").

Other than the lumps, I have no other symptoms. As you all know - I am strong like bull, so I know I will beat this. The wonderful people at the Santa Barbara Cancer Center recommended we use this site as a way to communicate with our friends and family. Chemo will start in the next day or 2 at Cottage Hospital. Thank you all so much for all your good thoughts, well wishes and prayers. 

And for all those people who think they don't have to worry about my awesome ground strokes - think again. I will be back on the court before you know it. And ladies - don't even think about snagging Ken as your Mixed Doubles partner - but you can bring him a casserole every once in a while.
