About Lisa's Helping Hands

On February 27th I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer. The official name is “Invasive and in situ lobular carcinoma”. The good news is that it is early and small. I had an MRI which revealed another lump in the same breast. The genetic test came back positive for the a mutation in the BRCA2 gene which is responsible for breast, ovarian, prostate and pancreatic cancer. I will be doing genetic counseling so there will be more to come on that later. As a result of all these tests I have decided to have a double mastectomy on April 4th.
