Welcome to our Lotsa Helping Hands Website. This site is used to coordinate service projects of the Metropolitan Church in Washington, DC which consists of Metropolitan Memorial UMC, Wesley UMC, and our Crossroads congregation worshipping at our St. Luke's Mission Center. These projects include the provision of meals for our Metropolitan House and St. Luke’s Men's Homeless Shelters, providing weekend overnight support at Metropolitan House, the making and distribution of sandwiches to homeless individuals in the city in conjunction with the Salvation Army, the gleaning of produce from area farms for food pantries and feeding programs, food recovery and the preparation and delivery of meals within our Campus Kitchen Project operating within our St. Luke's Mission Center, and our involvement in Rebuilding Together.
