Paul's Kicking Prostate Cancer's Butt Helping Hands Page
Alpharetta, GA

Yes, Prostate Cancer can be deadly... Just ask Paul. Earlier in 2014 at age 47 we found out he has metastatic prostate cancer to the lymph, bones, and liver and lungs. HE WASN'T EVEN DUE TO HAVE ANY PSA TESTS FOR ANOTHER 3 YEARS!

His form is a pretty aggressive Gleason 4+4 with underlying 5's making it mostly 8 and 9.. That it had spread so fast and so widespread was unreal to us. That is was going to kill him was another shock.

Then the chemo started... 3 weeks later he had a small bowel obstruction. Then that perforated, 2-3 more obstructions, and the wound dehisced... We never thought he would make it past that but somehow he did....

Only to be back in ICU with heart failure! His ejection fraction at 35% and cardiomyopathy possibly from nearly 2 months with no food, possibly from the chemo or some medications he takes. We may never know.

For now... he is growing stronger and fighting this beast. His PSA had a slight rise last month. That worries us. His only treatment is Lupron currently which blocks his testosterone and squashes his cancer down. It is working- the innumerable mets in his lungs are no longer showing on scans. But for how long we won't know until it happens.

We just got the go ahead from surgeon that he can re-start chemo, but cardiologist was pretty against it unless it was life or death... which it pretty much is. The chemo he had is known to cause heart issues as well as GI issues. He wants to start again, I am scared!

So this is our page. To bring info, to build a support community for him (and me too) during the next couple years (and hopefully much longer) they say he has.

Please think of helping us in some way- no gesture is too small...

Just please, be present in our lives, and let's help Paul live out the remainder of his life with love, dignity and peace.

Our family is so lucky to have such a wonderful circle of friends and family. We cannot thank you enough for your concerns and generous offerings during this trying, yet hopeful time. Mom was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma which is a form of non smokers lung cancer in mid August. This website is a place to keep you informed and to let you know how and when your help would be most needed. She loves all your messages and cards and prayers. And you can even send her messages on this site. It really is so comforting to her.
Mom will be getting chemo once every 21 days and there may be times that she would love not having to mess with making dinner. On the calendar you can sign up on a designated date if you are inclined to bring a meal. We are doing this so that there will be an easy and organized system so she's not overwhelmed with too much of a good thing. She does hope to get out and about but just remember her immune system will be down and therefore susceptible to colds. We ask that anyone who comes into contact with her be cautious about washing hands, and obviously no runny noses or coughs .
Once again, we thank you for all of your loving support and we cherish our relationships with all of you!

Much Love!!!

Rebecca Howle is a single mother of two wonderful children, named Stephen & Faith. Originally from Huntsville, South Carolina, she currently resides in Sugar Hill, Georgia. She is currently employed at Northeast Georgia Health System as a MDS Specialist, where she has worked for 5 years in Gainesville, Georgia.
At just 40 years old, Rebecca has been diagnosed with a high-grade invasive ductal cancer to her right breast and axilla. Chemotherapy is required to shrink the size of the invasive tumor. Rebecca needs 8-20 cycles of chemotherapy before having the competent surgery needed to remove the tumor in her breast. She may or may not need follow-up radiation therapy after her surgery is complete.
Rebecca is not asking for a specific amount of money. Her friends at Northeast Georgia Health System would like to contribute to her funds in any way possible. Her friends know that while Rebecca will be paying many co-pays & insurance deductibles, she is also a mother first. And keeping her children clothed & fed is just as important to her if not more. Any amount of funds donated, prayers prayed and positive thoughts towards Rebecca & her family during this time would be greatly appreciated.
If you would like to send well wishes,

Christie's Helping Hands
Marietta, GA

Thanks so much for being an important part of Christie's life! We, first of all, believe God's Word regarding Christie. The Bible says , "By the stripes of Jesus, we were healed". We know God's Word is true and Christie is healed! As her friends and relatives, we want to stand by her in her fight of faith and assist her any way we can!

Christie and Bernaudeau could use some things. We would like to supply food for them the next 4 months. Food should be delivered 3 times a week. He is currently a 3 in diapers. Both would be appreciated.

And your prayers. We know God's will is that she is healed! So continue to praise God and believe God for her total recovery!

God bless and thanks so much
