About Shirat HaNefesh Chesed Committee
Welcome ...
... to the SHN Lotsa Helping Hands Chesed Committee web site.
Much informal assistance takes place within our community, which is only one aspect of what makes SHN so special. We hope to develop a culture where every SHN member can feel comfortable asking for help from the Chesed Committee. When a need is expressed, Loretta will email all volunteers. Sometimes Rabbi Gilah or Hazzan Tasat will let us know that someone would like our assistance. Anyone who has joined this on-line community can then go to the calendar to sign up for a particular task. Some examples of what volunteers might be asked to sign up for include: providing rides to/from medical appointments or SHN services; bringing meals during a shiva period, after surgery, after a baby is born, or during an extended illness; or visiting and calling a homebound member.
We also hope that our volunteers will let our clergy know when there is someone in our community who needs assistance but doesn't feel comfortable asking for it.
Members can ask for assistance through this website, as well as by contacting our clergy or Loretta.
Thanks for supporting Shirat HaNefesh as a member of our Chesed Committee.
