About Leif's Champions
Meet Leif.
He likes trucks, buses, diggers, loaders... you get the idea.
Leif was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma the day before his second birthday. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy at Kaiser Oakland Medical Center. Since Ewings is a bone cancer, Leif will be undergoing surgery at the end of June to have his shoulder blade removed. It's a hard time, but we are optimistic that Leif will be one of the 70% who survive.
Meet Eric & Mary.
Eric is an artist and programmer. Mary, before devoting herself to Leif, was a criminal defense investigator. They recently moved to the Bay Area from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, so their network of friends and family are elsewhere. But the kindness of strangers is alive and well in the Bay Area, and they thank you for your generosity and assistance during this difficult time.
Leif is a fighter. He was born eleven weeks premature, weighing 2 lbs, 6 oz, and has worked hard to catch up. His cancer diagnosis is a setback, but everyone is doing their part to make sure his future is bright.
