“What can I do to help?”Lotsa Helping Hands is a private, web-based caregiving and volunteer coordination service that allows family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues to organize and create community – whether it is organizing neighborhood volunteers to help a spouse who is alone when a family member is deployed, arranging for child care and meals delivery, or coordinating support for a recovering veteran. Each community includes an intuitive group calendar for scheduling tasks, a platform for securely sharing vital information with designated community members, and customizable sections for sharing photos, blogs, journals, and announcements. Now, when someone asks a military family “what can I do to help?” the answer is “give me your name and email address” – the system takes over and allows people to sign up and start helping. |
